Octavian Rwehumbiza

Tanzania

My name is Octavian Rwehumbiza,  a 22-year-old tech enthusiast. I am delighted to apply for the Patoranking Foundation Scholarship in partnership with ALX, as it aligns perfectly with my aspirations to advance in the tech industry. Having recently enrolled in the backend engineering course at ALX, I am eager to complement my current frontend experience with comprehensive backend knowledge, aiming to become a full-stack developer.

Growing up in Tanzania, I was always captivated by technology and its potential to drive change. I pursued this passion by self-learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which led to my first freelance projects. These experiences underscored the transformative power of technology and solidified my desire to build solutions that can have a meaningful impact in my community.

This scholarship presents a unique opportunity for me to gain in-depth technical expertise, access to cutting-edge resources, and professional mentorship. The paid internship at a leading tech company will not only help me refine my technical skills but also immerse me in a professional environment where I can learn from industry experts and work on innovative projects. This exposure is crucial for me to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

Our Hope
