Peter Lawrence

Tanzania

My name is Peter Lawrence, and I’m a Tanzanian youth with a dream: to transition from agriculture into a fulfilling career in software development. This passion ignited years ago, and in 2022, I took a bold step by applying and gaining acceptance to the ALX Software Engineering program.

However, my journey wasn’t without hurdles. Limited internet access in my village and relying on a friend’s laptop for learning presented significant challenges. Unfortunately, when my friend relocated for a job, my studies were put on hold.

Undeterred, I persevered. I moved to town, secured a job, and finally have access to my own laptop and reliable internet. This newfound independence reignited my passion for tech. The Patoranking Tech Scholarship presents the perfect opportunity to reignite my ALX journey and bridge the gap between theory and practice.

I’m not just seeking knowledge; I yearn to contribute. The chance to intern at a top tech company alongside the scholarship would be invaluable. Imagine a Tanzanian youth like myself, combining the problem-solving skills honed in agriculture with the power of software development – that’s the impact I dream of making.

Our Hope

Patoranking Foundation Scholars maintain meaningful lifelong connections, providing motivation and inspiration to continue their pursuit of making positive change in their communities.
